This is an undeniable fact that Google is the most useful, popular and widely used source to do research on internet. According to a report by daily finance 69% people prefers Google to search on internet. It means 69% of people hit Google.com when they do not know a specific website. In fact some people do think of Google as genie. People just write their desired search terms in Google and it provides results to what people are looking for. A friend of mine once said when while using internet you can grab any kind of information and to me the word internet here can be replaced by Google.

When I started this article I referred Google as authentic source but I did not keep that word written because no search engine claims for their authenticity because they follow a certain algorithm to show results for any search term and authenticity of shown websites is not their responsibility. Although, Google does care for the authenticity of website it lists but still no claims owned for it.

I regularly use Google for any research but when it comes to some specific sort of terms I do find it biased towards business oriented website. For instance, if I search “jeans” 8 out 10 listed websites are business oriented. So, what if someone is looking for research oriented information on jeans? This is just an example of a generic term, this case can be seen to thousands of generic search terms which can be traded over internet.

It can be easily understood that majority of people searching these sort of generic term are actually intended to buy them but proportion of people just seeking knowledge or conducting a research cannot be ignored. Here are the screen shots I found on different search terms
